Under the direction of Head Coach Bill Snyder, the Kansas State Wildcats gained another Big 12 football conference crown. Explore K-State's 2012 season and previous championship success.

Kansas State Football Conference Championships

With Heisman finalist QB Collin Klein leading the charge, the Wildcats roared loud in 2012 all the way to the Fiesta Bowl.

2012 Big 12 Title K-State soared to an 11-1 regular season record and Big 12 title in 2012 as Bill Snyder's squad posted key wins over Miami (FL) 52-13, at No. 6 Oklahoma (24-19), at No. 17 West Virginia (55-14), No. 15 Texas Tech (55-24)and No. 23 Texas (42-24).

The Wildcats began the season with a No. 22 AP ranking, but soared all the way to the nation's No. 2 position before a November 17 loss at Baylor ended the team's perfect season.

Additional season highlights included 56-16 rout of Kansas in the Sunflower Showdown and QB Collin Klein's third place finish in the 2012 Heisman Trophy voting.

2003 Big 12 Title The 2003 11-4 season included many highlights to go along with the conference crown. Bill Snyder's squad finished the campaign with a #10 BCS, #13 Coaches Poll and #14 AP rankings.

On the way to the Big 12 title game, Kansas State edged out Nebraska as champions of the league's North Division. Finishing as the North's top team was made possible by a mid-November 38-9 rout of Nebraska in Lincoln.

Facing the top ranked Oklahoma Sooners in the Conference Championship game, the Wildcats routed OU 35-7. The win pushed Kansas State to the January 2nd Fiesta Bowl, where they lost to Ohio State 35-28.

Stars for the team included QB Ell Roberson who threw 24 TD passes while running for 15 more. Running back Darren Sproles led the nation in rushing with 2061 yards. Sproles also rushed for 16 scores and finished 5th in the 2003 Heisman Trophy voting.

Additional Conference Championships

The 1934 KSU squad claimed Big 8 Conference honors with an overall 7-2-1 record. The Pappy Waldorf coached squad eged out Nebraska for league honors and marked the first major conference championship for the University.

The school won the Kansas Intercollegiate Athletic Association title in 1912.
